your papa was a pixel wrangler too?

her: so what do you do for a living?

me: I move dots of light around on my flat piece of melted sand.

box S

why do I feel so fulfilled and safe when I look at my stash of extra cardboard boxes?!

zero gains game

one squat rack, me, and ten new years resolutioners.... much like middle east geopolitics, going to the gym after new years has become a zero sum game.

I've been looking for love in the wrong place all this time, apparently my spiritual single is waiting for me in Shelby, Iowa.

Iowa...maybe being alone isn't so bad.

does anyone else continue to discover new features on their smart phone by accidentally touching it in a different way?

worst thing to ever happen to me

The lives of the people around me, the ones that i love and care about, are in pain and chaos.  Broken thirteen year long relationships, broken marriages, divorce, unwanted pregnancies, cancer....

and this is the worst thing in my life right now:

I'm such an asshole.

I feel guilty.  and worried that my turn for tragedy is coming.

12.10.19 update:

annnnnd, the problem just went away. I'm the worst.

12.11.19: annnd its back, why is my life so hard.

snorers

mutineers < rapists < child molesters < murderers <  snorers.

seriously, what evolutionary function does a snorer provide other than telegraphing "hey prehistoric predators of the night, I'm over here with my tribe and we're all deep asleep and helpless, come eat us!"

always makes me smile

lost in Geary

to paraphrase a line from the greatest movie ever: "what kind of hotel makes you change your own sheets? "

when did I get soft?

adding a little cream cuts down on the bitterness and acidity of coffee, and brings out the wonderful, aromatic, deep, flavors that were hidden behind the darkness.

what an apt metaphor for my life: acidity and darkness and bitterness.
my life could use a little cream.

where has this meme been my whole life?!

1.99?!

I'm sorry but I just cannot trust these eggs.  $1.99 for 18 extra large grade A?  that shouldn't be possible here, not even at Costco.

I dont want to think about the chemicals and suffering required for chicken eggs this cheap.

please do not use

please, do not use, you'll only break it more.

the power of music

never underestimate the awesome power of music... to make me want to be a 40 year old white woman day drinking white wine at sunday brunch with my girlfriends.

silver linings

the good thing about being this sick is the great ab workout from all the coughing and hacking.

just wish my eyeballs didn't hurt so much.

cleveland

I guess dying from terminal disease is much like the opposite of recovering from the flu.  instead of laying in your bedroom enjoying you're day off from work and the feeling of slowly getting better, you're in a hospital bed and can only expect the symptoms to inevitably get worse until you inevitably die a very uncomfortable death.
