i made that

its hard to find your pieces on the finished product shelf sometimes because they look so different after firing in the kiln.  and its natural to look at other people's pieces for comparison and inspiration.  I was admiring one particular piece for its color and shape. i liked it a lot. 

turns out I made it.

took me a while to realize it was mine, but there was my name on the bottom when I turned it over.  

that's what you call self-affirmation.

10pm, I got out of bed, turned on the lights, squatted in front of my living room shelf with my pottery pieces and started turning them around in my hands and admiring the way the lights shine on my precioussss...
